Know thyself!” It sounds simple, doesn’t it? Yet if it were, why would we have such a hard time to change an insane habit? On the subject of knowledge, Einstein offers: “I want to know God’s thoughts; the rest are details.” At first, we may understand his desire as being all-encompassing; cosmic! There is another way to look at Einstein’s wish in relation to the offering of the oracle at Delphi: what if “knowing God’s thoughts” and “Know Thyself” were one and the same? A perennial wisdom saying confirms it by way of “as above, so belove.” In other words, there is no difference between knowing the BIG (“God’s thoughts”) and the small (“me, myself and I”)! Would accepting this premise assist us to be the change we wish to see, stop suffering, and therein, actively contribute to the work of transformation that is so direly needed at this time?
Joining above and below, spirit and matter is where a global cosmology – a Theory of Everything, truly – comes in handy! It allows us to feel into a universal pattern, e.g.; a six-pointed star, and to use its wisdom to know ourselves, that is, to feel ourselves! Sounds farfetched? In our last New Essenes meeting (Sunday 2/8/15), we were amazed to realize how the first word of the Hebrew Bible that is traditionally translated as “in the beginning” can also mean “created SIX,” as a six-pointed star, a snowflake and/or a water crystal.
What does a water crystal has to do with Self-knowledge? Well, everything! Think of a snowflake; how, in spite of its uniqueness, it will eventually merge with and melt into the whole. Now bring to mind Dr. Emoto’s water crystal of love and gratitude: our body is made of 70% water and our brain, of 90%, which makes us walking water bottles, absorbing the physical word around us, while also reflecting our consciousness or the lack of it. Knowing myself stars in mastering my emotions: when I can let go of fear, the crystalline shape of my body-mind naturally opens to integrity. I can now be in gratitude and love what is, that is, love the neighbor and the stranger as myself. That crystal of mine has no choice; it is shaped for that purpose, to re-MeM-ber that I am LOVE!
Join us this Thursday (tonight) as we dive into the emotions of the letter Mem, the water-letter of the Torah that is as receptive as water, while feeling into the deep truth of “when two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” We will begin our meeting at 6PM CST / 7PM EST. Listen online, via SKYPE, follow us on Twitter. The call in number is (646) 564-9680 (listen or join in on the rich conversation). Let others know that they may always listen to the archive or join us live for our next New Essene show via EmpoweringNow radio as well, on Sundays at 11 AM CST / 12PM EST.
