Carl Jung often spoke of the 22 tarots cards as the "initiatory journey of the hero." Devoted to the healing benefits brought about by elucidating the symbolic life, he wrote on the significance of Freud’s Jewish descent for the origin, content and acceptance of psychoanalysis:
“One would have to take a deep plunge into the history of the Jewish mind. This would carry us beyond Jewish Orthodoxy into the subterranean workings of Hasidism... and then into the intricacies of the Kabbalah, which still remains unexplored psychologically.” – C.G. Jung, 1973, Vol. 2, pp. 358-9.
Background on TORA / TARO Cards
The Hebrew Bible is called the TaNaKh: the T stands for Torah, N for Neviim (the Prophets), and K for Khetubim (Hagiography).
- The written Torah is comprised of the Five Books of Moses.
- The oral Torah is comprised of the Mishnah and the Talmud.
The Torah [TORA] comprises the Five Books of Moses. Its essence encompasses:
- 22 regular letters (our study in this module).
- The most sacred 4-letter Name, known as the YEWE.
- 10 circled numbers (to be decoded in XPR IntegriTREE 8).
The Tarot [TARO] is a set of 78 cards used as a game and for psychological or divinatory exploration (when not in the now). It is composed by:
- 22 major key cards (our study in this module).
- 56 minor key cards divided into 4 suits (clubs or wands, diamonds or disks, spades or swords, hearts or cups). These 4 are the basis of the LOVE QKode.
- Each suit has 14 cards each — 10 pip / 4 face cards (one more face card per suit than a regular playing deck).
Tarot cards are used throughout much of Europe as a playing game. They are also used for psychological – at times confused as divinatory readings. Beyond the alliteration of TORA / TARO, there is an exact correspondence of letters, numbers and sounds between the two “technologies.” That correspondence is not acknowledged at this time by the Judaic Kabbalah.
About XPR TORA / TARO Cards
- The XPR TORA / TARO deck includes the 22 major key cards as the 22 primary Hebrew letters.

- On one side of each XPR TORA / TARO card is the orignal artwork of a hat, created by Mahalene Louis. For example, see the image to the right, which has the halo hat for the Hebrew letter Shin card.
- On the flip side of the card is a coaching message, along with a glyph of the associated Hebrew letter (Shin). The message for this Hebrew letter is "LOVE IS GOD! Are you increasingly GREATeful to be alive?"
Why hats?
- Historically, the minor holiday of Purim for “lots” commemorates the courage of Queen Esther and the deliverance from Haman’s plot to annihilate all the Jews of the Persian Empire.
- Yet it is so much more: Tradition has it as the only holiday that will still be celebrated at the end of times (end of times means “end of thoughts…”)
- There are 4 commandments to Purim:
- Feed the hungry (recommended at all times!)
- Hear the public reading of the Megillah (for “scroll”) from the Book of Esther.
- Go to synagogue dressed up in a FUN costume.
- Go to pray, having drunk wine Ad Lo Yada, which means “until you no longer know” that there is a difference between the good guy (Mordechai) and the bad guy (Haman).
- Purim is your perfect Buddhist Dharma (for “truth”), where, having let go of any identification with thoughts or any sense of separation, you place an order for your Kosher hotdog saying: “make me ONE with everything!”
